- Once accepted, the firm can work on your bookkeeping with you and message you in your Inbox.
- Your setup checklist ticks off Invite your accountant after that acceptance, once AirBill refreshes the setup state — sending alone never completes it.
Invite your accountant
Ask your own bookkeeper or accountancy firm to join your AirBill administration — by email from the setup checklist, or with a link from your Inbox.
Open the Complete account setup card on your dashboard and choose Invite your accountant. Enter their email address and send — AirBill emails them a link to join your administration. You need to be the owner or an admin to do this.
Underneath the form, every invitation you sent shows its status (Pending, Accepted, Expired) and how long ago it went out. While one is pending you can resend the email or revoke the invitation.
Sharing a link instead
Open your Inbox. As long as no accountant is linked and you have no conversations, it offers Invite accountant: that creates an invitation link without sending an email, which you can copy, share, or revoke. Handy when your accountant uses a different address than the one you have on file.
What your accountant does
They accept from the AirBill web portal, not the mobile app — it requires an account belonging to an accountancy organization. If they don’t have one yet, they’ll need to set that up first.
What happens next
Common problems
You saw an error about sending the email
AirBill saves the invitation before trying to email it, so it isn’t lost. If it’s listed as Pending, use resend rather than creating another one — or share its link instead.
You invited the wrong address
Revoke the pending invitation and send a new one. Revoking makes the old link unusable.
You can't find the invite option
Only owners and admins can invite an accountant. The Inbox route also disappears once a firm is linked or conversations exist.
