Deleting customers isn’t supported yet — the app says so if you try. A customer you no longer use can simply be left unused.
Add and manage customers
Record your customers properly once — with KVK lookup and VAT validation — and invoicing takes care of itself afterwards.
Go to Invoices, tap ⋯ at the top right, and choose Customers. You’ll see every customer with a search bar above them; + adds a new one. The same list is the customer picker while creating an invoice.
Adding a customer
Search by company name or KVK number and pick a result — AirBill fills in the name, address, and numbers from the KVK register. Not listed (a foreign customer, for example)? Fill the fields in yourself.
The fields: Name, Contact person (optional), Email, country, City, Street and house number, Postal code, KvK no. (optional), and VAT No. (optional).
- A KVK number is checked live against the register; Company found confirms it. An invalid number blocks saving, but if the register is briefly unreachable you can still save.
- A VAT number is validated too; VAT validated confirms it, and Save anyway covers the case where the check can’t complete.
From the customer list only the name is required. Missing street, postal code, or city gives a Billing details incomplete warning but still saves. Invoicing later needs a valid email address plus the full address, so adding a customer from inside the invoice flow asks for the complete set right away.
Viewing or editing
Tap a customer for their detail page, and the pencil for Edit customer — the same form, including KVK lookup and VAT validation. Changes apply to invoices you create afterwards.
Common problems
Deleting a customer doesn't work
The KvK number is refused
A Dutch KVK number has exactly 8 digits. For foreign customers, leave the field empty.
VAT validation keeps failing
The European validation service is occasionally unavailable. Choose Save anyway and check the number again later.
