Join a business from an invitation

Someone who runs a business in AirBill invited you to work in it with them. Accepting adds you to their business; it doesn’t create one for you and doesn’t touch a business you already have. (An invitation from an accountancy firm is a different thing — see Accept your accountant’s invitation.)

Accepting

Open the invitation link on your phone with AirBill installed. It opens a short AirBill page that hands you over to the app; if you don’t have the app yet, that page offers a Download on the App Store (iPhone) or Get it on Google Play (Android) link.

Not signed in? AirBill takes you to sign-in first and picks the invitation up again afterwards. There is no separate Accept button in the app — opening the link is the confirmation. The business becomes your active one and appears in your business switcher.

AirBill runs on iPhone and Android. If you open the link on a computer, the page shows both store links — install the app on your phone and open the link there; joining can’t be finished from a computer.

What happens next

• What you can do depends on the role you were given: Admin (manage the business and invite others) or Member (work in the business, but not manage the team).
• Your name appears in the business’s Team list.
• Moving between businesses is covered in Switch between businesses.

Common problems

The invitation is no longer valid

Invitations expire after seven days and work only once. Ask the owner or an admin for a new one.

You already accepted it

Opening the same link again just takes you into AirBill. Look for the business in your business switcher.

The link doesn't open the app

Tap Join business in AirBill on the page itself. If the app isn’t installed yet, install it first and open the link again.

You landed on the sign-in screen and nothing happened

Finish signing in — the invitation resumes on its own. If it doesn’t, open the link once more now that you’re signed in.
